Penile Papules or Pearly Penile Papules is a problem that is otherwise known as Hirsuties coronae glandis and “hirsutoid papillomas”. These are tiny, harmless bumps found circumferentially around the corona or sulcus of the male genitals or glans penis. The size of the bumps may be 1 to 3 mm. Experts consider that these are caused by anatomical variations in the body. According to an estimate, more than 25% of men are affected by this problem. Mostly, uncircumcised men are more susceptible to be affected by this problem. In general, younger men are more prone to be affected by this than slightly older people. Though Penile Papules does not cause any problem to the health of the men who have been affected by it, it certainly is considered as a displeasing affliction. Both the CO2 laser treatment and the electrosurgical procedure do not need hospitalization and they are only out-patient treatments. Only if there are complications, doctors may advise in-patient treatment.
Of course, patients can opt for the direct surgical excision procedure also for getting rid of penile papules. This will be carried out with a scalpel. As soon as the problem lesions are removed, appropriate sutures will be done at the spots. This procedure is quite effective but the downtime for getting back to the normal state may be longer in this. In certain cases, there may be complications and risks. The doctor must examine and evaluate the patients before deciding to conduct this procedure.
Unfortunately, many people mistake these bumps as HPV warts. But, it is a big myth. Only anatomical variations cause this problem. There are some home remedies for curing this problem. The affected people can search on the Internet and find the most appropriate home remedies that suit them. But, these people are warned that they should not choose dangerous treatments or techniques because such wrong choices may result in genital mutilation that can even be permanent. The best way is to consult competent dermatologists because there are effective and safe treatments in dermatology for treating this problem. Likewise, the affected people should not opt for self-surgery also because due to this, there can be permanent damage to their sexual life. These penile papules really cause a lot of self conscious problems for myself. I am soooo ready to get rid of them. My doctor tells me they are nothing to worry about, but I still want a way to be rid of them forever. I am afraid to get a gf because of these problems.
